Description

Andy's old Rambler broke down. For her husband's birthday, Ora decides to buy him a new car. After Andy complains and returns the car, Louie fixes the Rambler with the help of a repair man named Smitty.

LOUIE [narrating]: Now the Rambler had been sick before.
But this time it was terminal. ANDY: Why all the sad faces. TOMMY: The car Dad. LOUIE: Instead. ANDY: What are you talking about. This baby he's just tired. ORA: I don't know Andy it has seen better days. ANDY Well geez, who hasn't! LOUIE: Me at eight years old I was kind of hoping I hadn't quite reached the pinnacle of my life yet.

LOUIE: I need to make some real money. EMPLOYER: What do you want kid? LOUIE: I'm here about the job. I need the money for a car. EMPLOYER: Can you drive a forklift kid? LOUIE: Oh sure forklift spoon left you name it, I'm a natural born lifter.
EMPLOYER: Oh that's rich.

ANDY: We can't afford a new car. ORA: Sure we can. ANDY: What about the old Rambler? I had it towed here between the trade in and the cookie jars. We have just enough for a new car. LOUIE AND TOMMY: Happy Birthday, Dad! ANDY: I'm touched. LOUIE: Let's say. ORA: Happy Birthday, dear! BOBBY WHEELS: Hi, Bobby Wheels at your service. You look like one smart cookie of a customer, am I right. And if you're a Rambler Man
I'm the guy you want to talk to. ANDY: All right, listen to me Robert Wheels. I'm not your typical sample customer. LOUIE: That's right, he's a special slap.

ANDY: Take a nice long look at the Rambler.
What do you see? LOUIE: A really big paperweight. What do you see Dad. ANDY: I'll tell you what I see when I look at that car. I see my best friend. I can't remember a time that this car wasn't part of my life. Back from the war, guess who is there to meet? LOUIE: Mom. ANDY: Now the Rambler then too and my first date with your mother in that car. I proposed in that car.
