The fairy tale adaptation begins with the song Frozen Heart: "Born of cold and winter air and mountain". At the age of 9-year-old, Kristoff Bjorgman an orphan boy with his best friend fanny reindeer Sven, was adopted by trolls and raised as one of their own. 13 years later, Kristoff is a seasoned ice harvester by trade who lives in The North Mountain. Prior to Queen Elsa's coronation, he is briefly seen in Arendelle selling ice. A few days after eternal winter begins, Princess Anna shows up at Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna in search of winter clothing. Kristoff arrives at the same time as her, covered in snow, seeking to purchase carrots for Sven and climbing rope.
KRISTOFF: I sell ice for a living.
